The Google Page Rank or PR for short is a ranking system created by Google that assists with their search algorithm. Each website is assigned a value from zero to ten with ten being the highest. When your website is brand new it is automatically assigned a value of zero. Your goal is to get that number up to ten, which isn’t easy, but it can be done, it just takes work.

Realistically you are looking to achieve five to eight which is really good. With that said here are some techniques you can use to help increase your Google Page Rank and appear higher on those Google search listings.

Google looks favorably upon websites when other websites link back to them. The more links you have pointing to your site the better and the higher PR those sites have that is even better yet. In other words a website that has a PR of 5 that points back to your website has a higher value than a website with a PR of 1. Although there is nothing wrong with a website that has a PR of 1 pointing back to you, it just means you will need more of them.

There are two types of links that can refer back to your website, they are reciprocal links and one way links. Reciprocal links are links in which a website places a link on their website that points back to yours and in return you put a link to their website on yours. This process is also called a link exchange. You can spend many hours surfing the net and contacting websites individually or you can look up websites that are specifically designed to handle link exchanges. Doing a Google search on the words "Link Exchange" will yield you plenty of results. There are also plenty of free options out there.

One way links are exactly what the term implies. A website has a link pointing back to your website and you are not obligated to return the favor. The best way to do this is through article marketing. That is the process of where you will write an article and post it to various article directories and include a link to your website in a resource box. Then bloggers pick up your articles and post them on their blogs which includes your link. Google looks favorably upon one way links.

Finally, you can partake in discussions related to what your website is about on various social networking sites and message boards. In the discussion areas they allow you to have a signature line. In your signature line you can post a link back to your website. The more active you are in those discussions with relevant information the more often your link will appear.

There are the three ways I recommend to help increase your Google Page Rank. They are all free which is very helpful and regardless of what you read you can not go from a zero to a nine in a couple of months. The Google algorithm does not allow for it. Be prepared to work at it and in no time you can climb up that Google PR ladder.

When in comes to making money on the internet search engine rankings mean everything. The more visitors you attract to your site, the more revenue you will make. Whether you sell products or make revenue from paid advertising the more people you attract to your site and the more money you will see.

There are many methods to getting high rankings on Google but there are some basic principals that must be followed. Google overall is the hardest search engine to rank highly on. Google combines multiple factors that play an important role to ranking on the first page for your desired keyword or key phrases.

The first and foremost factor is the quality of your website. When people ask me how I score so highly on Google I give them this advice. Build a better website than your competitors and you will rank higher. Include more information, have the freshest information and above all don’t stop until you reach that number one spot.

For the most part, the harder the keyword you’re trying to rank the more lucrative it is once you have accomplished it. So what are the main factors to attaining a number one ranking on Google? The main factors in attaining top rankings are; quality and number of incoming links, site content updates, the size of your site, the amount of fresh resourceful information that you display, and how you optimize your site.

For simplicities sake I am going to use a vacuum cleaner site as my example, and the keywords I want to rank highly for are "vacuum cleaner reviews". If you type these keywords into the Google search box it lists that there are 11,000,000 relevant sites that contain something about vacuum cleaner reviews.

Not all these sites are built around these keywords but they are relevant to these keywords. Knowing this we have established our competition. After your site has been optimized, you’ll want to start link building. There are many different kinds of links but for Google we are going to concentrate on one way incoming links.

These are sites that link to you with no links back. The best way to get the most quality links is to create articles with your keywords embedded in them with a link back to your site. These articles can be distributed to many places on the internet, some examples would be news sites, forums, blogs and article directories. Write as many good, quality articles as you can and distribute them to as many places as you can. This can be time consuming and mind numbing but it is the best way to get quality incoming links. For our example you could review vacuum cleaners and post them as articles. By doing this you will have relative content on the senders side of the incoming link.

Size does matter when it comes to ranking highly on Google. If you’re building a vacuum cleaner site for example, build the site big enough to encompass everything there is to know about vacuum cleaners. You could add content such as vacuum cleaner reviews, ratings, the history of the vacuum cleaner and much more. I always tell people that if you’re going to do something, do it big, and don’t stop until you get what you want. The more pages of good information you have on vacuums the more relevant your site will become to Google.

Fresh quality content is a must for any successful website. Copied material will not get you to number one. Google expresses a heavy emphasis on fresh text and lots of it. Make sure to write articles for your site, and give back to the people that visit it. If someone types in vacuum cleaner reviews and enters your site, reward them with the best and the most in depth reviews they have ever seen. The buzz will soon start and people will rant about your site. I always say that you get back whatever you put into your website. Keep your audience captivated with fresh up to date material that is the most relevant to the keywords you want.

The last factor to ranking highly on Google is how you optimize your website. Keep focus on every page to what the title and description of the page is. If your page title is vacuum cleaner reviews make sure that every bit of information on your page at least has something to do with vacuum cleaners. Your page will not be ranked if your page gets out of focus. Also make sure that every link to and from your page has relevance to the page. It won’t do you any good to have an incoming link from a diet site to your vacuum site on Google.

The factors that I have gone over are the basics on ranking highly on Google. The information that I have given is meant to be tweaked because the search engine algorithms are ever changing. If you build your website on these fundamentals your site will rank highly and be very successful. Always remember that the best site always wins in the end, and what you put into your site you will always get out of it. Be motivated and patient because sometimes it takes time to get the tings that are worth having, and most of all, never give up.
